Eligibility and application checklist

Prepare to apply for entrepreneur support with a practical eligibility, finance and document checklist.

Before investing time or money

  • [ ] Identify the scheme and administering body using its official page.
  • [ ] Check whether applications are currently accepted in your state or district.
  • [ ] Check the eligible activity, location, applicant type, business stage and any age or registration conditions.
  • [ ] Determine whether support is a grant, subsidy, loan, guarantee, training or a combination.
  • [ ] Check the full project cost, personal contribution, loan terms, fees and repayment obligations where relevant.
  • [ ] Check whether previous assistance affects eligibility.
  • [ ] Note the official deadline, application portal and implementing agency.
  • [ ] Gather only the documents the programme or lender actually requests; protect sensitive personal data.
  • [ ] Keep copies of submitted information and the application reference.
  • [ ] Confirm next steps and follow-up contacts with the official agency.

Documents to investigate

Depending on the programme, you may be asked for identity and address details, business or registration records, bank information, a project report, quotations, and evidence supporting relevant categories or location. Requirements differ; use the current official checklist rather than assuming all documents apply.

For an example of a programme-specific list, see the official PMEGP FAQ. Reviewed 28 October 2026.

This checklist is educational and does not establish eligibility or guarantee approval.
